What a stunning experience! As a native of Middletown, and a ’53 high school graduate, this was fascinating. My family was not in the mill, but I have sent this material to several friends whose fathers were Armco executives. What is the source of the mill photos? I would like to obtain and enlarge one for a wall in my house. Quite striking industrial photography. Whatever, thanks for your work. With best wishes, Van
I was on the historical society board of trustees and an employee of Armco Research when I acquired the Armco Archives. It was August 1999, just days before AK Steel took over. I spent many days scanning and logging the captions into a database.
Let me know what photographs interest you and I can have high resolution images printed and shipped to you.
